Vibration Condition Monitoring Program

Routine Condition Based Monitoring (RCBM)
Route based vibration analysis is a powerful tool in monitoring machinery health. A well designed vibration data collection route based on a monthly or quarterly frequency for most equipment will provide the customer with “over the horizon” information on their equipment condition, to ensure unforeseen defects do not evolve into unforeseen failures.

Rotating Equipment Diagnostics (RED)
In this situation, a perceived defect is present and maintenance personnel require additional resources to determine the best course of action. Unlike diagnosing a defective condition that arises during routine condition monitoring, the analyst may not have any history or comparative data to refer to. This leaves the analyst to draw upon current data and his experience in diagnosing a problem.

Acceptance Testing (AT)
In critical new, equipment under manufacturer warranty or rebuilt equipment, too many times, equipment performs poorly and the customer finds themselves between various vendors all pointing the finger in the other direction. Newly commissioned or rebuilt equipment that is of poor quality or installed improperly can typically operate long enough to expire any warranty. Acceptance testing can be in the form of testing motors at the vendors shop or as a whole unit in place under normal loaded conditions.

Why use Vibration Condition Monitoring?

Conversion of information into action!

Vibration analysis is a proven technology in determining the reoccurring equipment failure and provides us with early warnings of many potentially serious root sources in rotating machinery that leads to catastrophic failures.

Unpredictable or unscheduled equipment failures can cost up to 10 times more to repair than equipment repaired when predicted by condition monitoring. Studies show that implementation of an effective Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program can results in an average reduction of more than 25% on maintenance cost.

Where to apply vibration condition monitoring?

Just to highlight few of the critical applications that commonly found in your critical process plant. A key focus area is to manage the total cost of ownership by increasing machine reliability and uptime. To leverage your invested capital in machinery and equipment, it is essential to continuously monitor your critical assets to trend on defect developments as to increase efficiency and productivity.

Why Install permanent vibration sensors on your equipment:

  • Vibration Data Trending
Vibration trending is observing vibration data over time. It indicates general machine health with no complex analysis required. It is suitable for critical assets without any existing condition monitoring program.
  • Just a simple, cost effective technique
With a simple setup of alarm limit, spectrum analysis is not necessary. Changes in vibration levels normally indicate of equipment failures within 1 to 3 months in advance.
  • Maximize Your Resources
Reduce time spending on finding machines with problem. Focus only on problem machines.
  • Safety
Minimizing the risk of exposing technician and engineer during data acquisition from potential hazards and moving components (i.e. gear, shaft, housing)
  • Upgradability /Future Expandable
FFT Spectrum data are ready available from the transmitter BNC connector for further diagnostic purpose and future reliability team establishment
