Re-engineering & Fabrication

Nothing is more certain in machinery life is material fatigue and eventual failure. More often than not, the early signs of material fatigue appear in the form of cracks brought about by complex metallurgical stresses in the parent material and / or welded joints. The initial reaction is to work the equipment less in order to avoid the inevitable consequence, eventual failure. Costs start to accumulate when the equipment uptime is deliberately reduced to conserve its life and from that point on, seem to never end fill eventual repair or replacement.

What is Re-engineering?

Re-engineering is a process which involves knowledge of the original machinery designs. From this understanding we are able to review the inspection findings and offer upgrade options to incorporate latest materials and engineering techniques to enhance reliability and performance of your machines.

From many years of experience it has been proven that planned and scheduled maintenance is the most effective preventative step that can be taken once the signs of material fatigue first appear. It not only ensures a continuation of high uptime but a longer machine life. Longer machine life means a better return on investment.

It has also been proven, that the cost of effective repair is for more economical than replacement. More often than not, the most cost effect method of machine fatigue repair is welding and careful post weld stress relieving. It may even be possible to perform "Repair and Maintenance" welding without removing the component from the main machine or stripping the many subcomponents from the main machine structure. Repair and maintenance welding combines not only skill of welding but a solid knowledge of metallurgy to understand the stresses and how they work to prevent a recurrence of the same fatigue.
